Rock Steady Boxing is a research-backed program that has been adopted worldwide. At Greater Midland Community Center, our classes are facilitated by certified personal trainers and wellness professionals from a variety of backgrounds. No boxing experience is necessary, and men and women of all ages can participate. By focusing on functional fitness, our classes help improve people’s ability to perform everyday activities and maintain independence, improving symptoms such as slow and/or small movements, imbalances, stiffness, flexed posture and respiratory weakness. We also offer aqua fitness classes that focus on functional strength and balance, while reinforcing engagement of the core and postural muscles. Open to people with Parkinson’s Disease and atypical forms of Parkinson’s, such as Corticobasal ganglionic degeneration (CBD), Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP), Dementia with Lewy Body (DLB) and Multiple Systems Atrophy (MSA). Volunteers are always needed, contact wellness@greatermidland.org or call 989-488-6401 ext. 2753.

Testimonials
I began to notice positive changes within a couple of months, attending sessions two to three times a week. I am better off when I leave than when I came in. The camaraderie that emerges helps us maintain our positivity, good humor and fighting spirit.

Rock Steady has truly been a godsend for my physical and mental health. All the instructors are top-notch, specially trained on key movements for Parkinson's, and SO supportive and encouraging and A LOT OF FUN! I cannot imagine a finer community of like-minded friends or a more impactful program for those dealing with Parkinson's.
