Financial Assistance
Need Help Covering Costs?
To make our ECE programs more accessible to all, Greater Midland accepts Child Development and Care support from the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) if you are eligible (visit the MDHHS page to learn more). Greater Midland can also provide financial assistance on a sliding scale as funding allows. For more details, speak with ECE staff at the Greater Midland program where you plan to apply.
Drop-In Care at the Community Center
For parents and caregivers who are active at the Community Center, we offer two drop-in options where your child can play, learn and grow in a welcoming environment, staffed by professionals specifically selected for their experience working with youth. You must remain on-site at the Community Center while your child is present.
Child Watch
A bright and engaging room for ages 3 months to 9 years to use for up to 90 minutes per day, with age-appropriate toys and activities. Guardian must remain on-site while your child is present.

A relaxing hangout spot where kids ages 6-12 can get help with homework, participate in STEM projects, play video games and participate in group activities.

All staff must pass thorough background checks for employment and complete 24-hours of training each year.
Safe, Engaging Facilities
The ECE classrooms at each Greater Midland facility are located in dedicated ECE wings accessible only by our staff. Classrooms are stocked with toys, games, crafts and sensory items appropriate for each age group, and each building has a secure outdoor play area with fun equipment for play and exploration.

Yes, Greater Midland follows the State of Michigan licensing requirements for all licensed childcare centers. We require Live Scan Fingerprints, which includes a nationwide FBI criminal record check and a Michigan State Police criminal history check. Greater Midland also runs an Internet Criminal History Access Tool (ICHAT). An ICHAT clearance checks public records contained in the Michigan Criminal History Record maintained by the Michigan State Police. These background checks must be cleared prior to an offer of employment.
